Endodontics

Endodontics is a branch of dentistry that deals with dental pulp tissue in the tooth roots and tissues surrounding them. Endodontics literally means inside the tooth and is concerning with the disinfection of infected pulp tissue in the tooth roots (Root Canals). Root Canal Treatment or Endodontic treatment primarily focuses on the disinfection of the root canals and safeguarding the natural tooth.

Depending on various clinical situations, there are conventional / Single sitting / Laser assisted RCT and the most advanced microendodontics (operating microscope / loupe assisted).

Restorative Dentistry

Restorative Dentistry is a specialty that deals with treatment of decayed teeth. The treatment varies depending on the extent of decay, ranging from simple fillings to complex class II – class V restorations.

·         Simple fillings of the decayed teeth:

These fillings include conventional silver fillings, tooth colored composite fillings and glass ionomer (GIC) fillings etc.

·         Complex restorations:

These are tooth saving procedures like Inlays, Onlays and restoration of mutilated teeth with post and core build up.

ROOT CANAL TREATMENT

  • Root canal treatment is the most preferred treatment to retain the natural tooth against conditions like tooth decay, tooth decay leading to pain, fracture or cracks in the tooth.
  • At AD&IC we focus on providing Root canal treatment to the patient utilizing latest techniques of rotary Endodontics thereby reducing clinical procedure time. The procedures usually take 40 to 50 minutes and can be completed in one or two visits depending upon the condition of the tooth.
  • The treatment is done under Local anaesthesia which makes it a painless procedure.
  • We at AD&IC also practice digital record keeping which further ensures higher quality and safer care for the patient.

SINGLE VISIT ROOT CANAL TREATMENT

  • At AD&IC our well trained team is specialized to perform single visit  root canal treatment in less than an hour using advanced endodontic technology incorporating latest rotary equipment, apex locators, surgical operating microscope , digital radiography and lasers.
  • To ensure high degree of clinical success, patients are thoroughly examined and appraised of clinical situation by our team and accordingly would advise you for a single visit root canal treatment.

Is single visit Root Canal Treatment possible in all patients?

  • In clinical conditions with extensive infections single visit Root Canal Treatment is not advised.
  • It is possible in fractured teeth with close pulp (nerve) involvement, for strategically significant teeth while planning an extensive prosthesis/ rehabilitation and teeth with minimal infection.

Briefly, in cases of vital pulp, a single-visit treatment can be done whenever possible. This is based on the fact that the pulp is only superficially infected and the root canal is free of bacteria, provided the aseptic chain is maintained during the intra canal procedures.

One visit endodontic should be viewed as a procedure that supplements and complements total patient care as it relates to endodontics and not as a technique that is going to totally replace multi visit procedures.

CAD CAM RESTORATIONS

What is CAD CAM in dentistry??

  • For extensive decays and complex tooth fractures, complex restorations like ceramic inlays and onlays are performed using CAD CAM (computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing) technology.
  • These restorations are fabricated in laboratory employing design software.

Why use CAD CAM systems to fabricate restorations?

Advantages: 1Optimum strength and fit of the restoration

  1. Better quality compared to traditional restorations
  2. Increased speed of designing the restoration

  • AD&IC is well trained in CAD CAM technology and our support Jhonson’s Place Lab gives the best support and helps deliver these precision restorations in quick appointments (1-3days).
